Half‑Year Community Round‑Up 2026

The first half of 2026 has been full of energy, community spirit and success – and I’ve been delighted to be part of it.

We kicked off the year by supporting the Baldock Beast in February, proudly sponsoring the medals and mucking in on the day to help make the event another roaring success.  Spring brought a burst of colour with the organisation of the Great Baldock Easter Hunt in partnership with the Baldock Town Twinning Association, followed swiftly by sponsorship of the inspiring Flawed Hero Marathon in April.

April also marked a major milestone for newly revitalised Baldock Community Hub where I have joined as one of nine new Trustees, and was delighted to instrumental in helping the Hub raise over £6,000 in fundraising during its first six weeks of trading.  With my Leysbrook hat on, I am proud to have been there every step of the way, offering time, energy, equipment, and a whole lot of passion to help the Hub thrive as a welcoming space for everyone.

May brought the Baldock Beer Festival where I was proud to sponsor a cask ale as well as donate my time to assist with running the door.  Next, I produced the Baldock Festival Quiz which raised £1,300 for St Mary’s Church Hall and the Festival’s chosen charities.

June is always an incredibly busy month: first event was my Inflatable Installation sevent at Letchworth Splash Park as part of the Letchworth Festival which brought huge smiles and laughter to the park.  Despite some slightly dodgy weather we made a fantastic £500 for Northfields Infant School, a brilliant example of fun translating directly into community benefit.  Then, with barely a moment to recover, it was onto the organisation of Letchworth Eagles Football Tournament, raising a fantastic £20k for the Club.

What’s Next for 2026?

The second half of the year is shaping up to be just as exciting.

  • School’s Out for Summer – Inflatable day at Baldock Splash Park: 22nd July
  • Baldock Hub Events – Quiz Night: 24th July  and Bingo: 31st July
  • Charity Golf Day: 25th September
  • Baldock Community Fireworks: 7th November

From family fun to fundraising, Leysbrook will continue championing the events, people and places that make our towns vibrant.

Here’s to an even brighter second half of the year, and to the incredible community that makes it all possible.

Thank you everyone for your support!
